How does Flipwise calculate the size of your store?
Flipwise charges you based on the total number of products it considers “under management” in your store. (Note that when we say "store" we just mean how many products you have listed on eBay. You do not need to be an eBay Store subscriber to use Flipwise! )
A product is considered under management if it:
- is currently listed on a marketplace, or
- has sold in the last thirty days.
For example:
- Products actively listed: 143
- Products sold in the last 30 days: 15
- Total products in your store: 158
In this example, there are a total of 158 products under management based on the number of active listings and sold products in the last 30 days.
Is it more complex than that?
A little. Our calculation method uses averages to allow for proration and accommodate day-to-day fluctuations in your active listings. To calculate your total number of active products for any given billing period, Flipwise takes a count of the total number of active listings each day from the previous 30 days to calculate an average for the full billing period. So if you listed an additional 30 products on the last day of your billing cycle, it would only increase your store size for that billing period by 1 product. (30 products ÷ 30 days = 1.) Similarly, if you delisted 30 products from inventory on the last day of your billing cycle, it would only decrease your store size for that billing period by 1 product.
Why do you include sold products when calculating the size of my store?
The value of Flipwise comes from managing the full lifecycle of a product in inventory, from listing through selling and fulfillment. A product is considered under management from the time it gets listed on a marketplace until 30 days after it has been sold to account for the full lifecycle of a product. Additionally, in any given 30-day billing cycle period, you may have many products that were both listed and sold within the last 30 days. In cases where a product is both listed and sold in the same 30-day billing cycle, it is only considered a single product under management that counts toward your total store size.
What about products that sold more than 30 days ago?
Even though sold products remain in your Flipwise inventory and can be managed forever, a product is no longer considered under management 30 days after it has sold and is not counted towards your total store size.
Do sales I add manually count towards my store size?
No, manually added sales are not included when calculating your store size. Only sales on eBay that were imported automatically count towards your store size.
Does ending and relisting (or selling similar) impact how much Flipwise will charge me?
No. Ending and relisting (or selling similar) neither increases nor decreases the size of your store, and will have no impact on how much you are charged to use Flipwise.
How are multi-quantity listings handled?
A multi-quantity listing is treated as a single product when determining the size of your store. If you have one listing with 500 units, that is only a single product under management, even if the listing has variations.
What about unlisted products?
If you have a product that was previously listed but that listing was ended or deleted for any reason, it is no longer considered under management unless it gets relisted on a marketplace.
