Why does Flipwise not automatically import my shipping label costs?

If you buy your shipping labels from eBay using your eBay funds (also called Managed Payments), Flipwise will automatically import those shipping label costs for you after your order has been shipped. However, there are certain scenarios where Flipwise cannot automatically import your shipping label costs. In those cases (outlined below) you will need to enter in your shipping label costs manually:

If you buy your labels outside of eBay using a third-party like Shippo or Pirate Ship, we will not be able to import the cost to ship automatically. Over time we expect to integrate with many third-party shipping label providers so that label costs purchased on those platforms can be automatically imported, so stay tuned. But for now any shipping label purchases made outside of eBay will need to be logged manually in Flipwise.
Some eBay sellers can purchase their labels through eBay but pay via PayPal instead of Managed Payments. Due to limitations with the eBay API, we can not automatically import shipping label costs when the payment method used is PayPal—even if it was shipped from within the eBay interface. Switching to eBay’s Managed Payments as the payment method will allow Flipwise to automatically import the shipping label costs.
eBay offers an option to buy shipping labels in bulk when you have many orders to process at once. Unfortunately, eBay does not provide the itemized shipping label costs via their API when many shipping labels are purchased, so we have no way of knowing how much an individual order cost to ship. Buying your labels individually directly from eBay using Managed Payments will ensure that Flipwise can ingest these costs automatically.

Note: if you ship using an eBay Standard Envelope, Flipwise will import the shipping cost automatically, but it takes a long time (24 to 48 hours) for eBay to provide that data. All other shipping labels purchased through eBay using Managed Payments should appear in Flipwise in 30 minutes or less, or your pizza is free. (That was a joke. We have no pizza to give.)
