Income Statement Overview
The Flipwise Income Statement, also known as a Profit & Loss, gives you a breakdown of the performance of your business across all facets. It includes both revenue and expenses from sales across all marketplaces as well as any general business expenses and credits you have manually logged in the Ledger or that Flipwise has ingested for you automatically.
Below is a breakdown of terms and definitions for the various line items reported in the Income Statement. Not all line items will appear on every Income Statement; if the value for a line item is zero, it will be excluded.
Revenue
Total gross revenue
This value represents the sum of all revenue for your business for the time period selected as tracked by Flipwise.
Total gross revenue from sales - This value represents the gross revenue across all marketplaces you sell on.
Gross [Marketplace] sales - This value represents the gross revenue for each marketplace you have sales data defined for in Flipwise. To learn more about how Flipwise calculates gross sales, and why that may be different from what eBay reports, refer to this help article.
Additional revenue
This value represents the sum of all additional revenue not directly related to sales
[Category] (Ledger) - This value represents the sum of all credits (both direct and indirect) from a specific Ledger category. Direct credits are credits associated with specific items in your inventory while indirect credits have no association with items in your inventory.
Misc. eBay credits - This value represents the sum of all miscellaneous credits issued by eBay related to specific orders.
Shipping label adjustments - This value represents the sum of all shipping label cost adjustments that were credited to your account.
Expenses
Total expenses
This value represents the sum of all expenses for your business for the time period selected as tracked by Flipwise. This includes expenses directly related to orders across all marketplaces as well as any additional expenses logged in the Ledger, either manually by you or automatically by Flipwise.
Total spent on new inventory
This value represents the sum of the purchase price for all inventory with a purchase date during the time period selected. This includes items across all statuses, including Active, Sold, Ended, Donated, and Discarded.
Total marketplace fees
This value represents the sum of all fees across all marketplaces where you have made at least one sale during the time period selected.
eBay Final Value fees - This value represents the sum of all eBay Final Value Fees you were charged for sales that occurred during the time period selected.
eBay Ad fees - This value represents the sum of all eBay Promoted Listing fees for sales during the time period selected.
eBay Premium Ad fees - This value represents the sum of all eBay Premium Ad fees for sales during the time period selected.
eBay International fees - This value represents the sum of all eBay international fees you were charged for sales that occurred during the time period selected.
eBay Insertion fees - This value represents the sum of all eBay insertion fees you were charged for items listed during the time period selected.
eBay Regulatory operating fees - This value represents the sum of all eBay regulatory operating fees for sales during the time period selected.
[Marketplace] fees - This value represents the sum of all selling fees for each marketplace where you have manually entered sales during the time period selected.
Total shipping costs
This value represents the sum of all shipping label costs across all marketplaces, and includes any debit cost adjustments as well as return shipping label costs.
Shipping label costs - This value represents the sum of all shipping label costs across all marketplaces, excluding cost adjustments and return labels.
Shipping label adjustments - This value represents the sum of all shipping label cost adjustments that were debited from your account. A shipping label adjustment is usually related to having incorrect weights or measurements.
Return shipping label costs - This value represents the sum of all return label shipping costs on eBay.
Additional expenses
This value represents the sum of all additional expenses outside of marketplace fees and shipping costs.
[Category] (Ledger) - This value represents the sum of all expenses (both direct and indirect) from the Ledger for each category in the Ledger with at least one expense.
Misc eBay debits - This value represents the sum of all miscellaneous debits issued by eBay and related to a specific order.
Charitable contributions - This value represents the sum of all charitable contributions from eBay sales during the time period selected.
Total net income
This value represents the difference between your total revenue and total expenses.
