How do I edit or delete an Acquisition Lot?
This feature is currently in beta, so it is not available to all users. If you would like to be a part of the beta testing, please contact us at support@flipwise.app.
You can easily edit or delete Acquisition Lots to ensure you are correctly tracking the varying costs of your Multi-Quantity listing. Once you navigate to the Lots page, many of the values are directly editable inline, and each lot has a specific delete option as well.
Navigating to a listing's Lots
If your listing has multiple lots, then the item detail page will look a little different than normal:

The quantity purchased will now have, in parentheses, an indication that there are multiple lots, along with the number of lots. Your Purchase Location, Purchase Price, and Storage Location fields will all say "Multiple" to indicate that there could be different values for each lot. Clicking on any one of these values will take you directly to the Acquisition Lots for that item.
Editing a Lot
Once you are viewing the lots for a given listing, you can edit several of the values by clicking directly on them, similar to how you would edit Active or Sold listings. The editable fields are QTY (Quantity Purchased), Storage Location, Cost, Purchase Location, and Purchase Date. The "Sold" and "Left" columns are automatically calculated and cannot be directly edited.
When you edit the Cost, you will see a new dialog pop up:

This allows you to change the purchase price in two different ways: you can edit the total amount spent on that specific lot of items, or you can edit the cost of each individual unit. The other value will automatically be calculated based on your change. Note that if the total spent is not evenly divisible by the unit count, there could be some slight variation of $0.01 among the cost of the different units.
When editing the Quantity Purchased (QTY), there are a few things to remember:
- You cannot change this quantity to zero (0). Instead, simply delete the lot completely.
- You cannot decrease the quantity of a lot so that the quantity total among all lots is less than the Quantity Sold + Quantity Listed. For example, if you have a Multi-Quantity listing that has sold 5 items and has a quantity on eBay of 25, then the total QTY of all lots must not fall below 30. You can always first increase one of your other lots before decreasing a lot to ensure that this requirement is always met.
- You cannot decrease the quantity of a lot to be less than the amount of items sold that are associated with that lot. If your lot has the value 5 in the SOLD column, then your overall QTY value cannot be less than that. If you want to associate those sold items to a different lot, set the other lot's Purchase Date to be previous to the lot you are trying to edit. As long as there are unsold items in that different lot, then the sold items will transfer over.
Each of these cases will present an error message if the requirement isn't met.
Note: Increasing the quantity of lot in Flipwise will not increase the quantity in your eBay listing. You will need to specifically edit your eBay listing and increase the quantity to match the new total (the sum of all values in the "LEFT" column).
Deleting a Lot
To delete a lot, simply click on the trash can icon at the end of the row for the lot:

Similar to editing an Acquisition Lot, there are certain restrictions for deleting:
- Deleting a Lot is similar to setting its value to 0, and the overall Quantity Purchased total cannot be less than the Quantity Sold + Quantity Listed. To delete such a Lot, first increase the QTY of other lots to ensure that your overall total does not fall below this value after the deletion.
- You cannot delete a lot that has Sold items associated with it. If you want to associate those sold items to a different lot, set the other lot's Purchase Date to be previous to the lot you are trying to edit. As long as there are unsold items in that different lot, then the sold items will transfer over.
