What if I stop listing and/or selling on eBay?
If you've paused or stopped selling on eBay, your Flipwise subscription doesn't automatically cancel. Here's how it works, and how to end your subscription when you're ready.
Your subscription keeps running until you cancel it
Flipwise won't end your subscription automatically when you stop listing. Your account stays active, and the monthly fee continues to be charged, until you cancel it yourself.
Why we don't auto-cancel accounts
Even when you're not actively listing, Flipwise keeps storing all of your historical sales data: every transaction, fee, and profit calculation. That data is often important long after your last listing:
- Taxes. You may need past sales records when filing.
- Recordkeeping. Returns, disputes, and accounting questions can surface months later.
- Coming back to selling. If you start listing again, your full history is right where you left it.
If we cancelled accounts without consent the moment listings stopped, sellers would risk losing records they still need. Keeping accounts active by default protects that data.
Why the monthly fee continues during inactive periods
Storing and maintaining an account costs us money every month: server storage, data backups, and ongoing maintenance all add up, whether or not you're actively listing. The monthly fee covers those ongoing costs.
For the same reason, we aren't able to issue refunds for months when the account was active but unused: we've been covering those costs for your account the whole time. If you'd like to stop being charged, the best step is to cancel as soon as possible so no further fees accrue.
